The City Express is Keene's "Bus for Everyone!"  With service from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays, you can get where you need to go in temperature-controlled comfort.  Rides on the City Express are $1 and multi-ride tickets are available.

City Express service includes two others: the Campus Community Shuttle Keene State College (KSC) and the Para Express.  The Campus Community Shuttle is available on weekdays during the academic year and includes stops on the KSC campus as well as local shopping centers.

Para Express provides complementary door-to-door transit for those with a transit disability who live within the 3/4-mile corridor of the City Express Route.  To request an application for the Para Express service, please call 352-2253.

Friendly Bus

The Friendly Bus is a shared ride, door-to-door community transportation service, available to adults age 60 and over.  On weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays, the Friendly Bus can provide rides to get groceries, visit friends, medical appointments, lunch at the Friendly Meals - any activity in the city of Keene!

Shared rides means that riders are asked to “share a ride” on the Friendly Bus with someone who is going in the same direction at approximately the same time.  This is fuel efficient for our buses and is a great opportunity to meet new people!

To schedule a Friendly Bus trip, please call 352-8494.

Medical transportation

This shared-ride service is available on Wednesdays from Keene and travels to both the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT and to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Priority for the first-come, first-served reservations are given to those over age 60, veterans, and individuals with disabilities; family members or friends may accompany the rider with the medical appointment for assistance.  Those who do not fit any of the above categories may ride as space allows.  Please note that children under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian accompany them.

Trips leave at 8 a.m. from the HCS Keene office (312 Marlboro Street).  There are several ways to meet up with the bus - riders from any town can park at HCS and ride, plus pick-ups can also be made from homes in Keene or along the bus route.
